National Curry Week is one of the most anticipated weeks of the year for many reasons. Firstly, it honours one of the most emblematic dishes of the nation, encouraging everyone to participate in enjoying the culture, whilst simultaneously celebrating the burgeoning Indian restaurant Industry. The first National Curry Week took place in 1998 and it was founded by the late Peter Grove and now 23 years later it is still one of the highlights of the year.
Ritu, which is located in St John’s Wood, London is an authentic Indian restaurant with original and classic dishes that transport you across the world.
In order to celebrate National Curry Week, Ritu has created a special Curry Week menu.

Railway Goat curry – Rustic and authentic with the level of spicing used back in the day
Madurai Pepper Chicken – From the Chettinad region – Chicken thighs tossed with fresh crushed pepper and fennel
The Classic Butter Chicken – The quintessential British Curry
Fish Allepy Curry – Monkfish tails simmered in a mango-ginger sauce with coconut milk
Ritu’s tribute to Curry week doesn’t stop there. They have also created three incredible dishes, available for one week only.
Crab Kofta Curry – Devonshire crab meat with roasted cumin and chilli flakes simmered in a rich cashew tomato sauce
Lamb Shank Nihari – 12 hour simmered Salt Marsh lamb shank thickened with gram flour and served the classic way with Ginger and fried onions
Murgh Sultanpuri – From Sultanpur in Lucknow. Rich with cashews and silver onions , Garnished with an edible gold leaf
